How does Hazard Mitigation help? #AltusOK

What does a disaster on the other side of the State mean to #AltusOK?  The attachment is a graphic from a recent FEMA briefing.  

It shows Hazard Mitigation Statewide.  That can mean $$$ to jurisdictions with a current and approved Hazard Mitigation plan.  

Since Altus and Jackson County have approved plans, Federal dollars can help with mitigation projects identified in the plan.
