Debris is the topic of a public meeting set for November 14 at 10 am at the Altus Public Library, 421 N Hudson, according to Lloyd Colston, Altus Emergency Management director.
"This meeting is part of the debris management plan review," said Colston.
The plan is part of the recovery effort of local, State, and Federal government. Attendees will learn about how having a debris plan will help the local government recover quickly from a disaster such as a tornado or ice storm.
At http://bit.ly/1HCyWQc, residents who are unable to attend the meeting may view the draft plan and comment by email Colston. Those who wish to attend the meeting are encouraged to review the draft before the meeting.
Area residents and County residents are also encouraged to attend the meeting which is sponsored by the Local Emergency Planning Committee.
For more information about emergency management, one can call Wayne Cain, Jackson County Emergency Manager at 580.482.2260 or email lcolston@altusok.gov to reach Colston.
